KINE 465 - Inclusive Physical Activity (3) This course explores the impact of limitations and restrictions of movement in the lives of people with disabilities, examining both barriers and facilitators to participation. It intends to offer students insight into current concepts and trends in inclusive physical activity, exercise, and sport as it relates to an individual’s specific lifestyle. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of specific strategies to support various disability categories and interpret and differentiate inclusive strategies and modification for movement activities. Students will receive experience in an inclusive activity setting to apply knowledge and skills acquired from their classroom preparation to help individuals incorporate activity into their daily lives. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to pursue the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Inclusive Fitness Specialist certificate and the Autism Exercise Specialist certificate. Prereq: KINE 165 . Offered: Every Term.
