ECFS 360 - Infant and Child Development (3)

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the science of child development, from prenatal stages through early adolescence. Students will explore major theories of development and examine cognitive, physical, and social-emotional growth within diverse socio-ecological contexts. Special attention will be given to developmental disorders and their impact on individuals and family dynamics. Additionally, students will receive hands-on training in child assessment by practicing the administration of a developmental screening instrument. Through research, observation, and applied learning, students will develop the skills necessary to assess developmental progress, recognize influential factors on development, and support individuals and families through key transitions.
