The course will help the student develop foundational theoretical concepts, skills, and techniques needed to understand and practice effective counseling. The course reviews prominent counseling theoretical orientations from a biblical/theological orientation. Students will be exposed to current research in the counseling field plus evidence-based treatment theories and will incorporate those with traditional counseling modalities and theological reflection to begin building their own personal model of counseling. Prereq: DVCO 510.
