EDUC 523 - Diversity and Learner Development (1) This course is designed to prepare graduate students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to create content curriculum and implement pedagogical strategies that address gender, linguistic, socio-economic, social-emotional, and multicultural differences among students they teach. The course will cover topics such as, but not limited to, multicultural education; cultural awareness and appreciation; social-emotional learning; culturally responsive teaching and assessment; implicit bias; and diversity, equity, and inclusion as they relate to the field of education and today’s classrooms. Candidates will complete a field experience with the course. Offered: As needed.
