LAW 666 - Criminal Procedure II (2) The determination of guilt or innocence through the process of adjudication, with emphasis on constitutional and statutory limitations that assure fairness in the process. Topics include initiation of formal proceedings, bail, discovery, severance, speedy trial, plea bargaining, jury trial, former jeopardy, and effective assistance of counsel. Prereqs: None, although students may find Criminal Procedure I useful background.
