CHEM 371 - Advanced Chemistry Laboratory I (3) First course in the Advanced Chemistry Laboratory sequence. Combined lecture/laboratory survey course that focuses on an understanding and application of instrumental techniques in the areas of analytical, physical, and inorganic chemistry. Topics include: (1) components of spectroscopic instrumentation, (2) atomic spectroscopy (atomic absorption, atomic emission, X-ray methods), and (3) molecular spectroscopy (molecular absorption, molecular luminescence, infrared absorption, Raman scattering). Course is comprised of two lecture periods and one lab period per week. LAB 3, LEC 2. Prereqs: Grade of C- or better in CHEM 325 and CHEM 326 . Offered: Fall.
