MUSC 2530 - Theory III: Formal & Chromatic Expansion (3) Music Theory III is a study of chromatic harmony including secondary functions, tonicization and modulation, borrowed chords, the Neapolitan chord, augmented sixth chords and enharmonic reinterpretation; and of formal structures including binary and ternary part forms, sonata, and rondo form, and popular song forms. Participants will complete written assignments, and will also use basic notation and recording software to create music using the materials studied. Prereq: MUSC 1520 . Offered: Fall and Spring.
