Healthcare Administration Major (B.S.)

The bachelor of science (B.S.) in healthcare administration is designed to prepare students to serve in entry-level management positions in healthcare organizations. The degree provides students a foundation in business, leadership and interpersonal skills nurturing a patient-centered focus. The curriculum is designed to provide competency in communication, leadership, professionalism, business knowledge and healthcare systems. The program focuses on nurturing servant leaders who have a global leadership perspective. A minimum 240-hour internship is required. The degree allows graduates to join the workforce in many different areas including fellowships, hospitals, clinics, public health department, consulting firms, insurance agencies, and government entities. Students must also complete a minimum of 60 hours of community service in order to graduate.

*Six (6) credit hours of HCAD 421 (Healthcare Administration Internship) are required to graduate. Students can begin to internship hours the summer after their junior year.
