Students majoring in biology are offered the flexibility to design their own program. Students may emphasize the science of the environment, plant and animal diversity, animal physiology, microbiology, or cell-molecular biology. This flexibility allows students to prepare for a variety of graduate and professional programs.

Natural and Computational Sciences: 9-10 Credits

Biology Major: 44 Credits
Biology Electives: 12 Credits**
Choose 12 credits from BIOL 300-499, but excluding any course already designated as a major requirement, as well as any externships (BIOL 361 ) and independent research (BIOL 438 , BIOL 439 , BIOL 440 , BIOL 441 , and BIOL 448 ).
Chemistry: 8 Credits
Choose 8 credits from the following Chemistry lecture/lab combos. Selections should be made with the help of an academic advisor.
General Electives: 33-34 Credits
Total Required Credits: 128
* Biology Electives requirement excludes externships (BIOL 361 ) and independent research (BIOL 438 , BIOL 439 , BIOL 440 , BIOL 441 , and BIOL 448 ).
