Graduate Programs and Requirements

Degree

Master of Athletic Training (M.A.T.)

Athletic Training (M.A.T.)  

The Department of Kinesiology offers the master of athletic training degree (M.A.T.), a 56-hour program.

Admission Requirements

Completion of pre-requisite courses (C or better) in anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, general nutrition, general psychology and health/wellness. Applicants must hold certification in CPR for the professional rescuer at the time of program entry and must have completed a minimum of 50 hours of observation with a certified athletic trainer. A minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.

Time-to-Degree Completion Plan

The program is designed to be completed in two years (five semesters) of full-time study. Cohorts will begin during the summer semester and graduate in at the end the spring semester.
