The Department of Art offers a bachelor of arts in studio art, a bachelor of science in game design and 3D animation, plus majors in graphic design and studio art, each leading to a bachelor of fine arts. The department also offers a minor in studio art and an interdisciplinary minor in the arts.*

**The B.A. in Studio Art replaced the B.A. in Fine Arts in 2019-20.

Portfolio Review Requirement for B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Studio Art Majors

The B.F.A. in Graphic Design and the B.F.A. in Studio Art require a portfolio review for all majors at the end of the third semester or the completion of at least five of the following courses:

Graphic Design

• ART 101 - Two-Dimensional Design  
• ART 102 - Three-Dimensional Design  
• ART 110 - Digital Foundations  
• ART 120 - Beginning Drawing  
• ART 222 - Intermediate Drawing  
• ART 211 - Graphic Design: Theory and Practice  
• ART 213 - Graphic Design: UI Design Principles  

Studio Art

• ART 101 - Two-Dimensional Design  
• ART 102 - Three-Dimensional Design  
• ART 110 - Digital Foundations  
• ART 120 - Beginning Drawing  
• ART 222 - Intermediate Drawing  
• ART 230 - Beginning Painting  
• ART 270 - Beginning Sculpture  

The review will require a portfolio of work examples from the courses listed above. If a student has transferred or changed majors into the B.F.A. program, then the student is expected to participate in Portfolio Review after at least five listed courses are completed. The completion of the Portfolio Review Application will be the responsibility of the student and will be due at a designated date. Students are required to pass the Portfolio Review to remain in the B.F.A. program.

Students in the B.A. in Studio Art who are considering declaring for the B.F.A. degree may also request a portfolio review and must meet the same conditions listed above.
