MUSC 2540 - Theory IV: Analysis and Formal Structures (3)

Study of the development of chromatic harmonies, contrapuntal practices, and large formal structures of the 18th and 19th centuries with analysis of representative examples from music literature. Students must pass this course with a grade of C- or better to advance to Theory V (MUSC 3560). Prereqs: MUSC 1510, MUSC 1520, and MUSC 2530. Offered: Fall and Spring.
