MARS 340 - Coastal Zone Management (2)

This intensive, introductory course provides an overview of coastal zone management (CZM) in the United States, focusing on both the ecological features of coastal areas and the management policies that protect them. It will examine federal and state programs that guide coastal activities, and how various environmental processes in coastal regions influence management decisions. Students will gain an understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks that govern coastal zones and the complex interactions between human activities and the natural environment. Offered: Summer.
