DVAN 701 - Anglican History and Doctrine (3)

The course is a requirement for the Certificate of Anglican Studies. It will look at Anglican history and doctrine and demonstrate the extent to which Anglicanism resembles other Christian traditions and where, how, and why it differs from them. It will devote roughly equal amounts of time to the pre-Reformation heritage, the Elizabethan Settlement, and the modern period. The course is aimed specifically at Anglican ordinands and emphasizes what they need to know in order to understand the basic principles, as well as the apparent peculiarities, of the Anglican tradition.
