PHYE 510 - General Physics for the Secondary Educator (4) Instructional emphasis on basic physical principles, such as Newton’s Laws, energy and momentum conservation, and the application of these principles in diverse areas of physics, such as mechanics, thermodynamics, wave motion and electricity and magnetism. Includes problem-solving and laboratory measurement techniques appropriate for the secondary education classroom. Course concentrates on developing advanced understanding of previously-learned material at both the theoretical (lecture) and practical (practicum) levels. Meets a requirement in the general science teaching field of the MSE-FYNT program. Prereq: One algebra-based course in general physics. Offered: Fall, Spring, and Summer, on rotation.
