HIST 337 - History of International Women’s Movements (4) Moving from the Enlightenment to the present, this course examines a range of women’s movements around the world. The course critically analyzes the nature of political movements and considers the different circumstances that define women’s activity. Through the study of different texts, students will analyze the different ways that women’s histories are documented. And as a global history class, the course emphasizes the importance of taking a comparative approach and considering multiple perspectives. No one thing defines women’s politics, yet certain themes-the family, reproduction, and suffrage-reoccur. This course puts these conversations in global context. Offered: On rotation.
