MUSC 3433 - Musicology III: Music of the 19th Century to the Present (3)

A survey of the music from the early 19th century to the present that examines the role of music in relation to political, social, and religious history, and to the other arts. Emphasis is on the western cultivated tradition, but certain aspects of non-western and vernacular music are considered. Prereqs: MUSC 3423 and junior-level or higher standing in the Division of Music. Offered: Spring.
