PHLT 630 - Evidence-Based Decision-Making in Public Health (3)

This is a required core course for the DrPH. This course will examine the role of scientific evidence in clinical, public health, and policy decision-making. The course will explore why there is a need for evidence-based practices; how to identify, assess, and evaluate relevant evidence; and how to apply appropriate methods and analytic tools to create scientific evidence to inform policy and public health decisions. These concepts are necessary to assess, evaluate and implement evidence-based public health practices. Examples and problems from clinical, policy, and public health settings will be included.
