EDUC 501 - Assessment and Instruction for Elementary Reading/Literacy (3)

This graduate course provides an in-depth study of assessment strategies for elementary readers at various reading levels. Effective reading assessments for groups and individual learners, data-driven decision-making, and assessment of curriculum will be emphasized. This course will expand graduate student’s knowledge of on-going diagnostic instruction through the practice of reading assessment tools. Data analysis and patterns of performance at the individual, class and whole school level will be discussed. Students will design reading evaluation reports and collaborate with colleagues.
