Ethical leadership in complex organizations includes knowledge, skills, and attitudes of organizational behavior, communication, collaboration, and change. A review of theories of organizations, systems, economics, change, leadership, and ethics provides the foundation for this course. Emphasis is placed on an understanding that organizational systems leadership is critical to the promotion of high quality and safe patient care. Development of leadership skills that emphasize ethical decision making and effective working relationships from a systems perspective prepares the student for inter-professional teamwork.
