PSYC 320 - Health Psychology (4) Examination of the effects of psychological factors on health and illness. Health psychology emerged as an interdisciplinary subfield of social psychology and medicine after it became apparent that the leading causes of death are chronic diseases closely related with individual behaviors and lifestyles. Research within this biopsychosocial approach helps to promote physical and mental health and to prevent and treat disease. Prereqs: Eight (8) credits in psychology, including PSYC 101 .
